Located in the village of Chateaugay and
including portions of four surrounding towns in Franklin
and Clinton Counties, the Chateaugay Central School
District offers a variety of instructional and
co-curricular programs. The district serves approximately
620 students in grades K-12 in one exceptionally
well-maintained building. We have completed a
$10,000,000.00 addition and renovation project that
includes a new high school gymnasium, six elementary
classrooms, a completely renovated kitchen/cafeteria and a
new high school library. A new boiler system and remodeled
auditorium were also completed recently. All
students have access to the Internet through a local area
network that reaches every room in the building. In
addition to two fully automated libraries and 60 computers
in individual classrooms, elementary and high school
students have access to computer labs.
Chateaugay is a member of the Franklin-Essex-Hamilton
BOCES and takes advantage of a wide range of services for
students and staff. Four BOCES-operated Special
Education classes in our building complement our local
program and together server approximately 100 students
with disabilities.
Nestled in the northern foothills of the Adirondacks
between the Champlain Valley and the St. Lawrence Valley,
the area is rich in natural resources of lakes, springs,
rivers and woodlands. Within a 70 mile radius are
the city of Montreal and the Olympic Village of Lake
Placid. Area colleges include SUNY Potsdam and
Plattsburgh, St. Lawrence and Clarkson Universities and
Paul Smith's College. |
The
Mission of Chateaugay Central School, in partnership with
the community, is to provide a safe environment in which
each student, including those with disabilities, succeeds
in reaching his/her potential as a lifelong learner.
We envision a community of learners who achieve state
benchmarks at all levels and have a mastery of the
essential knowledge, skills, and dispositions outlined in
the New York State Learning Standards.
We believe all students at Chateaugay Central School have
the ability to learn. We, the faculty, staff and
administration, have the responsibility to develop each
student's potential to learn. |
