Devin Cassavaw dropped by with her digital camera that had a few more great shots from the recent trip to Smuggler's Notch. Pictures
It
is the highlight of the Ski Club season - the annual trip to
Smuggler's Notch. Once again a bus load of students and a few brave
chaperones took off for a fun weekend. The trip was initially
hampered by some rough weather but it all seemed to go well judging
by the pictures. If anyone else has pictures they would like to
share, please feel free to send them in.

Very soon snow will fall and we will dream of the ups and downs (well, mostly downs) of the mountains. It's time to dust off those skis and snowboards and have them tuned up! Have your equipment checked and tuned so you will be safe and ready. If you rent equipment from a ski shop, it is time to do that too. It is cheaper to rent skis from a shop if you plan to ski more than once a week for a ski season.
Membership in the Chateaugay Central Ski Club is open to all students in grades 6 to 12. To join Ski Club students must have a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian. The student has to sign and follow the school's code of conduct. These forms will be given out at the Ski Club's informational meeting in November. Students do not have to go on every trip to Titus Mountain to be a member. New members must take lessons until they have demonstrated the ability to ski/board with ease and control.
There will be eight trips to Titus Mountain starting in December, usually Thursday nights (weather permitting). The bus leaves at 4:30pm sharp and returns to school about 10:00pm. Students may only be picked up at Titus by a parent who signs them out with an advisor. Carpooling is not allowed.
The prices for a night of skiing or boarding with Ski Cub are as
follows:
• Lift Ticket and a Lesson—————$12.00
• Ski Package Rental—————————$9.00
• Snowboard Package Rental————$10.00
• Lesson for a Season Pass Holder—$8.00
• Ski Boot Rental———————————-$9.00
Students can bring their own food or buy dinner at the Ski Lodge
for about $5.00
We look forward to a snowy season and would like to thank Mr.
Harrica and the Board of Education for their continued support of
the Chateaugay Central Ski Club.
