| The 2007 Sam Walton
COMMUNITY Scholarship will be available online from November
1, 2006 through January 12, 2007. More information, printable
online instructions, and the link to apply for these and other
Wal-Mart Foundation programs are found at www.walmartfoundation.org.
The access code (SWCS) must be used to access this application
process.
The Sam Walton COMMUNITY
Scholarship is a non-renewable $1,000 award for the student's
first year of undergraduate study at an approved accredited
college or university. To qualify, the student must be a
graduating high school senior and may not be a Wal-Mart
Stores, Inc. or SAM'S CLUB Associate, or the child or legal
dependent of a Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. or SAM'S CLUB Associate.
The deadline for entry is a
postmark of January 12. 2007. In addition to submitting
the online application, students must submit all required
information to Scholarship Program Administrators (SPA) as
directed by January 12, 2007 (see online instructions for the
address). No exceptions will be made for late entries.
Documents sent to any other address will not be forwarded and
will be considered ineligible.
Program History
Since 1981, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. has offered the Sam Walton
Community Scholarship program to graduating high school
seniors. Through this program, over $57 million has been
awarded to students throughout the country.
