6/2/06 - The hits kept coming and the Lady Bulldogs won their semi-final match against Parishville this afternoon. Rozzie LaBare pitched a complete game and the defense played well behind her.  I believe the final score was 9-3 but I am not sure.  Either way the ladies are headed to Potsdam tomorrow to take on Heuvelton.  Good luck Coach Brown.  Good luck ladies.  Pictures

(If anyone has pictures from the Section X volleyball game, please send them in)

5/31/06 - Alas it was not meant to be.  The Varsity Baseball team lost their playoff game 2-1 in a  real old fashioned pitcher's duel.  Kris Chase pitched well and kept the team in the game but the bats came up a bit cold.  Congratulations to all the players for a great season, and the best of luck to all the graduating seniors.  Pictures

5/30/06 - Can you believe that just a few years ago the CCS softball team could barely muster a few wins?  This year they are the #2 seed and are playing very well.  They won their playoff game this afternoon relatively easy and look to a semi-final home game Thursday.  Congratulations to Coach Brown and all the ladies.  Pictures

5/30/06 - Want to see the future of CCS baseball?  Look no further than the little league teams playing at the rec park.  I was at a game Tuesday night when the local boys beat the Brushton team 17-1.  Among the highlights was a grand slam homerun.  Pictures

5/24/06 - It was the final regular season home game today for the Varsity baseball team and guess what...the weather was nice.  No rain.  No wind.  (unless you count listening to Langer.)  When I left the team was down 5-0.  I did not get a final score but I did get a bunch of pictures.  Pictures (I also have a few more shots than usual of the opponents for the nice folks who complimented me on the website.  Thank you!)

5/24/06 - No wedgies and no cows.  Confused?  Well, whenever I get pictures from the Modified Softball team I get some strange images so I had to take a few myself. When I left the game they had just staged a comeback and were up by 2 runs.  I did not get a final score.  I do have some pictures though.  Pictures

5/24/06 - It was a cold and blustery afternoon as the Modified softball team faced off against Salmon River.  They came up a bit short but played them stronger than last time. Their last game is tonight.  Good Luck ladies.  I left the camera with Laura Trudell. Pictures

5/23/06 - Volleyball playoff fever.  There's nothing like it.  Well, except maybe a buy one get one free sale on Ben & Jerry's ice cream.  Kidding of course.  When I left this afternoon the Lady Bulldogs were up 2-0 against Brushton.  I suspect they won their match and I think they will play again this week at a neutral site.  I'd write more, but did you catch the part about ice cream?  Pictures

5/23/06 - Rodney Davis took the camera to a recent away game and grabbed a ton of great shots in the cold weather.  There are no pictures of cows though.  Strange.  Pictures

5/19/06 - Emily Jackson borrowed the camera again for a recent road trip game against Colton.  The girls won handily and Emily grabbed some great pictures of...cows?  I am not sure how cows got into the pictures.  Fortunately we have no pictures of Tara's picking out wedgies.  Pictures

5/12/06 - A dramatic come from behind win last night as the Lady Bulldogs beat Salmon River 8-6.  This marks the first time the varsity girls were able to defeat the Shamrocks.  The now have an astounding 6-1 record.  Great job girls. (and Coaches Brown and Ouimett) Pictures (Lindsey Legacy took this pitch deep for a three run home run in the third)

5/12/06 - The boys said it was like a home run contest Thursday night as they slugged their way to a 25-11 (I think) win.  I caught the first few innings and witnessed some great plays in the field and great hitting.  The Modified Boys' team is undefeated so far this year. Pictures (If you look closely you can see Drew Boyea sliding into home.  I think he was safe, the ump did not)

5/9/06 - Another batch of photos from last Friday's modified softball game.  This time the pictures from from Casey Coleman.  Pictures

5/10/06 - I think they are getting the hang of it.  more and more students are borrowing the cameras for the games.  Here is another batch of photos from a recent Boys' modified game.  I think Rodney Davis took most of these.  Pictures

5/8/06 - Some Friday afternoon pictures of Modified softball.  Thank to Emily Jackson for the images.  She said that despite an umpire friendly to the other team they won the game.  I did not get a score though.  Enjoy the picture.  The only thing I am wondering is...what's up with the Sunflower seed pictures?  Pictures

5/4/06 - Modified softball and baseball pictures from Kyle Demers and Philicia LaBare.  Under a rainy sky with the ground wet below them the teams weathered the...um...weather to prevail once again.  (I think that means that they won.)  Great job. Baseball Pics - Softball Pics

5/3/06 - Rodney Davis borrowed the camera for an away game recently and took a number of great pictures.  He also managed to get a few movie clips.  They should open with either QuickTime or Windows Media Player.  They are fairly small as far as movies go, but they are still large files and may open slowly with dial-up connections.  Thanks Rodney.  By the way, the guys won their game. Pictures  Movie 1 - Movie 2 - Movie 3 - Movie 4 - Movie 5

5/1/06 - It was a nice afternoon for baseball and softball so I strolled by the fields to catch the Varsity boys putting up runs against Colton.  The Modified Girls' softball team was having a hard time figuring out the fast pitching from their Colton opponent.  I did not catch the scores though but when I left the boys had the game well in hand and the girls were coming from behind but showing momentum.  Pictures

5/1/06 - Varsity Volleyball does not exactly pack the gym, but there were some exciting moments in the 3-0 win over Salmon River this afternoon.  The ladies are undefeated this year.  I did get a few shots of the win including a few of Kelsey Nemier's amazing sets.  When I left Barbie rolled of a dozen or more straight points on the serve.  If you get a chance, catch a match.  Pictures

5/1/06 - Kateri Stemmer borrowed the digital camera for an away game recently.  I did not get a score though.  The athletes did look like they were having a good time on the bus ride and I am certain that they have plenty of sunflower seeds.  It's this easy folks...borrow the camera if you do not have your own and give me some details and I will post it to the site.  Thanks Kateri.  Pictures

4/29/06 - It was a cold afternoon but I did stop by for an inning of the Varsity baseball game Friday night.  They were winning 6-1 at the time.  Paul Harrigan was on the mound despite a knee injury and throwing well.  The bats were hot early in the game.  But as I said...it was cold.  Here are a few snap shots of the game.  Please feel free to stop by and grab the camera and add to the coverage.  Pictures

4/28/2006 - Thanks to Mrs. Watson we have the first softball pictures of the year.  She was at the exciting 13-12 win over St. Lawrence on Thursday night.  Thanks for the great pictures.  As always, if you have images and stories to share from the games, please feel free to submit them and we will get them posted on the website.  Pictures

4/4/06 - CCS students Michael Boyea  and Courtney Boyea traveled to West Point on April 1 to participate in the New York state free throw championship after winning a contest in Syracuse. Michael hit 24 out of 25 shots to become the 11 year old division state champion.  We are extremely proud of both students and look forward to their continued success in basketball. I received some great pictures from the Boyea family of the event as well as a few oldies but goodies from the digital camera.  Pictures

Basketball Season
3/30/06 - I have to admit that I forgot about these pictures.  As many of you know I am also working on this year's yearbook and I needed to hurry up and add all the award winners to the yearbook in time for the deadline.  What this means is that I forgot that I had a few pictures from the winter sports awards night.  This time the pictures mostly feature the people who often get overlooked during the season as we honor the athletes...the coaches.  Pictures
3/7/06 - Girls' Basketball Team Honored - The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) recognizes outstanding scholastic achievement by varsity level student athletes.  Team who earn a 90 average or higher during a sport season are honored.  This is a team award and the team average is calculated to select the winners.  The school a receives a certificate and each team member receives a pin.  This is the 2nd consecutive year that the CCS Girls' Basketball team has been honored.  Congratulations ladies!
2/10/06 - I THINK I CAN HEAR AGAIN!...Holy Cow Batman the gym was rocking tonight at CCS for senior night.  It was the final home game of the regular season for the Bulldogs and the joint was rocking.  Unfortunately the boys came up a bit short.  However they played a tough game right up to the end until foul trouble made a comeback difficult.  Before the game the senior players and cheerleaders were honored at center court.  I was bouncing back and forth between cameras trying to find something I liked and I did manage to get a few decent shots.  I hope you like them.  And to all the seniors....thanks for the memories.  You will all be missed.  Pictures 1 - Pictures 2 - Pictures 3
2/10/06 - Sometimes you don't realize how many wonderfully talented students are going to graduate until you see them on Senior Recognition day.  As can be seen, the basketball team and cheerleading squad are losing many members.  Tonight should be a great night for basketball as the Bulldogs face off against their rivals from Brushton-Moira.  We wish the team good luck and wish the best in the future for all of these students.  Thank you for your years of support to the school and the sports programs.
2/7/06 - It was senior night at CCS Monday night.  I have a few pictures from the JV game as well as the Varsity match against Parishville.  As many of you have figured out, it is hard to get decent pictures during a basketball game.  I think there may be a few here that are decent.  The best part is that there are many images of the seniors and their parents.  Enjoy.  Pictures 1 - Pictures 2
2/6/06 - Saying goodbye to seniors is always tough.  This year we will be saying goodbye to Katelyn O'Neill, Kristi LaBare, Amanda Demers and Kelsey Nemier.  They has been the backbone of the Varsity Lady Bulldogs basketball team for many years.  They were honored this morning and will be playing their final regular season league home game tonight. They will be recognized once again, along with their parents at tonight's game.  Thanks for the great season and the memories ladies.  You will all be missed.
1/19/06 - When I left at half time the Varsity Bulldogs were nursing a 20 point lead.  The weird part was that they were not hitting many of their shots.  Still, the looked to have the game well in hand.  The JV Team dismantled their competition, holding the Shamrocks to 9 points while pouring in 51 of their own.  I managed to grab a few shots, but as many of you know, without blinding the players with a flash, it is hard to get decent basketball photos.  I think there are a few here you might like.  Don't forget....it is hard for me to get to basketball games due to hockey season, so feel free to take some shots of your own and send them to me.  Thanks.  Pictures 1 - Pictures 2
1/4/06 - Here are a few pictures from a recent 7th grade modified game.  Ben talked me into going to a game on one of the rare nights he did not have hockey.  It is very hard to get decent basketball pictures but I think there are acceptable.  Enjoy.  Pictures (by the way...they lost to a very TALL team)
12/29/05 - Where are all the photos?  A few people have wondered where all the basketball photos are.  This is the one season where I cannot make many (if any games).  My winter months are very busy.  If you would like to see some pictures and news from the basketball teams you are going to have to provide them yourself.  Students are welcome to borrow a camera for games and ANYONE can send in images and stories that we can post.  Send them to the website by clicking HERE. Thanks for your help.
Fall Sports Awards
11/16/05 - I might have posted this information a few hours ago, but Coach Lang just finished talking.  The fall sports teams were honored this evening.  The coaches gave out participation certificates and many special awards.  It was also an emotional night the coaches as they had to say goodbye to seniors.  Congratulations to Mr. Lang, Mr. LaPlante, Mr. Ouimet, and Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds for a great season.  All the coaches thanked the fans, the parents, the custodial staff and all who helped make this season one of the best.  According to Mr. Harrica Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds could not attend the event.  Apparently they do not plan very well and Mrs. Reynolds had her baby yesterday.  Peter James Reynolds was born around 10:00 AM and weighed 9 pounds and change.  Congratulations!  Due to their absence there were no special awards presented for their teams.  They will have a special awards night as soon as they get their lives back to normal (check back in 18 years of so).  Here are the awards. 11/15/05 - A fresh bath of photos from Nancy Charland.  Thanks for all the help this season.  Pictures
11/11/05 - There were a few tears as the Lady Bulldog season came to an end this afternoon but once those feelings pass the team can look back on an amazing season.  All year long they were the team to beat and thanks to a few luck bounces they lost their only game of the year.  The score was 0-0 with less than  minute left to play in the first half when the Chazy team scored the lone goal.  Our girls mostly dominated play in the half.  The second half was thrilling as Amada Demers came up with a number of superb saves to keep the game notched at 1-0.  A header from Katelyn O'Neill bounced off the post and the best chance for a goal was denied by about an inch.  I know I speak for all when I say that we are all proud of the team and the efforts of all the players and Coach Lang.  Being the the Section X champs for two years in a row is a huge accomplishment.  Thanks for a great season.  Here are today's pictures. Batch 1 - Batch 2
11/10/05 - I just received a few pictures from Nancy Charland from the recent Section X title game.  Thanks again.  Here they are
Section X Champs Once Again
11/5/05 - For the 2nd year in a row the Varsity Girls Soccer team won the Section X Championship.  They beat Lisbon 2-0 on an amazingly nice November morning in Potsdam.  Despite the efforts of the Lisbon team to take out Katie Hamelin she scored the first goal about halfway through the second half.  Kristi LaBare followed up with an insurance goal a few minutes later.  Despite the fact that that the goal did not come until halfway through the second half, the girls dominated the game.  On one of the rare moments that Lisbon mounted an attack Amanda Demers came up with a huge save.  Many of the girls were nominated for various Section X awards as can be seen in the group pictures.  Krisit LaBare and Maggie Hamelin were singled out for their achievements as offensive and defensive players of the year.  Their next match is scheduled for Friday at 11:00 AM in Plattsburgh.  Their opponents have not yet been determined.  Congratulations! Pictures - Batch 1 - Batch 2 - Team PHOTO - very large file size - great for printing 8X10.
11/2/05 - ...and in the end it came down to a 1-0 game again.  The Boys Varsity Soccer team saw their season tonight with a tough 1-0 loss in Potsdam.  They played a very tough defensive game that featured many great plays from the full backs and from keeper Zach Peck, but a late second half 2 on 1 breakaway lead to the lone goal.  The boys did not give up and had a chance in the closing minutes but the flow of the game was marred by a number of whistles and an unexpected and unearned red card.  It was a great late season run at the title.  Congratulations to all the players and Coach Oiumet.  Hope to see everyone at the game Saturday when the girls try to win their second straight Section X title...pictures.
11/1/05 - They Win!  2-1 If you were there then you know how miserable the weather was, but somehow it didn't matter when Kate Favaro scored the go ahead goal off of a corner kick from Kristi LaBare. The girls will play again Saturday morning at 10:00 AM for the Section X title.  The boys will play Wednesday afternoon at 4:00.  If they win they move onto the Section X title game as well.  I tried to take a few pictures but the weather was horrible.  I do not have many good ones, sorry.  Here's what I have Batch 1 - Batch 2 - Special Surprise. Congratualtions girls and good luck boys!
10/30/05 - Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Varsity teams.  They both won over the weekend.  Next up for the Boys is a game Monday vs. P.H.  The girls meet Lisbon Tuesday night.  Good luck to both teams. Pictures from Nancy Charland
10/8/05 - I stumbled onto a link for a web based service called . "View My Schedule".  Click on the link and you will be taken there.  You can search for Chateaugay and the school will appear.  Click on the name and you will be taken to a new screen that will give you access to schedules.  I am not sure how all of our information is posted, but I will find out.  For now, enjoy the service.  If anyone out there knows about this service, please send me some information. Thanks

10/06/05 - It was billed as the match of the season.  Last year's Section X champs, our very own Bulldogs, were facing off against the #2 team, Parishville.  In the end it was a 6-0 statement.  The Modified girls team also shutout their Parishville opponents 5-0. When I left the JV team was locked in a 1-1 tie.  I will update that story when I get more information.  I have a ton of picture from all the games today.  Taylor Cassavaw and Taryn Bidwell took a ton of pictures at the JV game and my 8 year old son and I hit the other games.  I left his pictures in mostly unedited.  I think you might be able to tell which ones are his.  There are many great shots.  Congratulations to all the teams and their coaches. Batch 1 - Batch 2 - Batch 3 - Batch 4
10/03/05 - CCS Soccer teams proved to be to much for Brushton-Moira this afternoon as the Boys Modified team and the Varsity Boys team won their matches.  The Varsity team won 3-0 with goals from Andy Cook, Justin Corcoran and a great one-two punch of a pass from Tyler Beach to a waiting Nick Farrell who headed the ball into the net for the 3rd goal.  The Modified team also shut out the competition with a 9-0 win. They remain undefeated for the season. As for pictures....I focused on the Varsity team tonight.  I will catch the Modified team at the next game.  I have a decent team photo of the modified but I may to do another one soon. I am very picky.  Here is a LARGE image size team photo.
10/06/05 - Another source for Youth Soccer pictures.  This time the LaBombard family has submitted some wonderful pictures of youth soccer featuring a number of future all stars.  Thanks!
10/05/05 - Here are a few pictures from the recent Varsity Girls Soccer game.  They won 4-2 against Brushton-Moira.  Thanks once again to Nancy Charland for the images.  9/29/05 - More soccer pictures from a recent away game from Nancy Charland.  I think this may be the best batch she has ever submitted. Well, except for the scary close-up of the ball "boy".   Here they are.
9/27/05 - Even though it was raining, hard a diehard Bulldog fan caught a recent modified game and took a few pictures.  Thanks to the "sisters" for the pictures.  This batch even includes a rare picture.  But if you don't see it soon you may miss it. 9/27/05 - I think the message is getting through.  I received more soccer pictures.  This time from the Roach family.  Click here for more Youth Soccer pictures.  Thanks for sending them in.
9/24/05 - I know what you are thinking...I need more soccer pictures.  Fortunately I received some snapshots from some recent youth soccer games from the LaTour Family.  Batch 1 - Batch 2  Thanks! 9/26/05 - Mrs. Cowan took some pictures at a Youth Soccer game over the weekend featuring many CCS elementary students. Click Here!
9/23/05 - Still undefeated.  The Girls Varsity Soccer Team won their afternoon game 5-1.  Katie Hamelin got her first goal at about the 4 minute mark, but St. Lawrence came back with one of their own in the first half.  The tie game was broken wide open in the second half as the Lady Bulldog scored 4 unanswered goals.  I thank my sources for the update.  Here are some pictures from the first half of the game. Also, I will be taking team photos of all the soccer teams for the yearbook at their next home games.  Boys Varsity and Modified teams will have their photos taken on Monday.  The Varsity Girls and Modified Girls will be Thursday and the JV team will be October 7.  Thanks
9/22/05 - More soccer pictures from Nancy Charland HERE 9/22/05 - More great youth soccer pictures, this time from the LaTour family

9/22/05 - I may be wrong but I think this is the first time the Girls Modified Soccer team has been featured.  If you have not seen them play you need to get out to the field soon.  They are a great young team with a ton of talent.  They won their game this afternoon against Malone 2-0.  I also took a few shots of the Boys Modified team.  They won their game 7-0.  When I left the JV team had just tied against Malone.  The Varsity teams were practicing as well so all the soccer players were around this afternoon.  My question....do you all spend this much time studying math????  Believe it or not but it a bit dark for pictures of a fast paced sport like soccer but I managed to get a few.

9/21/05 - 100_0503.jpg (93401 bytes)Mrs. Cowan once again hit the local soccer scene for some great pictures.  There are many great youth soccer teams in the area so if you get time stop by to see a game and get a glimpse of the future of CCS soccer. More Pics

9/21/05 - Mrs. Charland was also at a recent game and image048.jpg (22901 bytes)took the time to send in these images.  Thanks to her as always for being a part of the website.

9/19/05 - Ladies and Gentlemen I present the JV Girls Lady Bulldog Soccer team.  The weather was warm but the team was hot.  They put up their first goal within minutes and followed that one with 5 more in the first half.  The second half was a bit more evenly played and the FA team even managed to score one goal to stop the shutout.  There are probably a few more pictures HERE.  You will notice that the JV photos are mingled in with the Varsity Girls team.  They also won their afternoon match against FA by a final score of 4-1.  It was a close match until the final minutes when two quick scores put the game out of reach.  Congratulations to both teams.  Even more pictures

9/14/05 - He shoots....he scores.  The Modified Boys Team pitched a shutout against Parishville this afternoon.  They won their match 5-0 on the very warm September afternoon.  The whole team played well and Coach LaPlante even had a chance to mix positions up a bit.  The Varsity Boys were not so fortunate.  They lost a tough game 1-0.  The loss was made tougher by the fact that a late goal was called off due to a disputed off-sides call.  The team played hard and had many chances, especially as the clock wound down.  The Varsity Girls won in Parishville 4-1 and the Modified Girls had an easy time winning 11-2.  I did not get a JV score.  Here are a few pictures form the home games.

9/13/05 - The future of Bulldog Soccer?  I do like the moves.  Jackie Cowan took advantage of two Chateaugay teams facing each other in youth soccer to get some snapshots.  The students pictured here are in the 7-8 year old division.  You can see all of the pictures by clicking HERE.  I think the future of Chateaugay is looking great.  Thanks to Mrs. Cowan for the pictures.  See how easy it is folks?

9/13/05 - Here are some pictures from Nancy Charland from the Varsity Girls Soccer team over time win in Chazy last night, along with some pictures from a previous game in Malone.  Thanks Nancy!

9/12/05 - It was a doubly good afternoon for Chateaugay soccer in Malone this afternoon as both modified teams were victorious.  The Lady Bulldogs won their game 1-0 under the hot September sun.  It was a battle throughout the game until one shot snuck by the FA goaltender. The boys also won their game. They dominated the action for most of the game and beat the Malone team 4-0.  Congratulations to both teams.  If only there were some pictures from the games.....hmm.....if only.....OK, here they are.  As always, if you have any pictures of your own to share, please feel free to send them in, or stop by room with a memory card and I will get them up for you.

9/9/05 - Celebration!  Kool and the Gang have nothing compared to the celebration following a tie breaking goal, and that is what followed as Kristi LaBare broke away late into the 2nd half to break a 1-1 tie. The Lady Bulldogs added one more goal a few minutes later to beat the F.A. Huskies 3-1. There are a few more pictures of the action HERE.  I also made it to the Boy's varsity game in the same afternoon and took even more pictures.  How many of you do that? When I left, it was a scoreless game.  However, the Huskies struck first in the 2nd half. The Bulldogs answered right back with two quick goals to win the game 2-1.  Congratulations to both teams and the coaches.

9/6/05 - Some of the Bulldog Boys Modified team members regroup after a goal during their 4-0 win at Brushton-Moira this afternoon.  Coach LaPlante watched the boys spread the ball around well and play good defense.  It was a good way to start the season.  There are many more pictures from the game as well as a number of images from the varsity game.  Remember, if you attend ANY of the soccer games and would like to contribute to the website, please send in your pictures, or consider asking to borrow a camera.  I will "cover" as many games as possible, but I can always use your help.  Thanks!
And, as always, good luck to all the teams.

8/29/05 - It's crunch time...get it...he's doing some warm-up crunches and I made a pun.  I crack myself up.  The Varsity boy's team is confident and looking ahead to another great season.  Coach Ouimet and the boys have a number of talented young players joining the team this year.  You can keep track of their progress by checking the sports page.  You can also keep track of the boys at the New York State High School Sports Page North Country Sportsnet, or this Section X Sports website.   Bookmark these sites to keep track of all the sports.  If you have another great source, please let me know (any maybe I'll stop the puns)

8/26/05 - Coach LaPlante shows the modified soccer where to run as the first week of practice winds up.  The team is looking to repeat last year's success.  (They went undefeated).  The team is large once again this year but there is a lot of talent.  All the teams have practiced hard this week with games scheduled to begin soon.  You can click HERE to see the fall soccer schedule.  You can also check out the sports page for soccer news all season as well links to Section X sports news.  Don't forget to send in any pictures or news stories you may have from the games.  You can always ask to borrow a digital camera and I will make sure the photos get posted.  Good Luck to all the teams.  Hope to see you at the games!

Here is the soccer schedule for this season.  Please note that it is subject to change.  Make sure you check with the players and coaches to find out if any games have been re-scheduled.
