It was a fairly easy night for the baseball and softball teams last night against St. Regis Falls teams. I was at Varsity Softball game when they started to take over and at the modified game when the team opened up a good sized lead in a 10 batter inning. Pictures
After
the first games of the new season all the Bulldog teams are
undefeated. The Varsity Softball team rallied late in the game for a
thrilling come from behind win. The varsity baseball team had some
great late inning relief pitching to secure a victory while the
modified teams had a slightly easier time with their opponents.
Great start for all the teams. Emily Jackson took a few photos at
the Varsity Softball game. As always, pleas remember that you can
help with the website by taking pictures and getting them to me.

I received this link from John Calnon. It is just a list of team names, but the list is of all State Champions. It is pretty cool to see the Bulldogs on this list.
Also, just in...here are some more great photos from maxpreps.org - thanks to Joe McComb.
Well, actually...THEY are the champions. The Boys' Varsity Basketball team was honored this afternoon with a special luncheon with food provided by just about everybody it seems. They were also presented with special plaques and were recognized in front of the entire student body, their parents, friends and community members. The band whipped a great version of Queen's "We Are the Champions". Congratulations once again to all involved. Thanks to all who donated food. Pictures 1 - Pictures 2
If
memory serves, the opposing team scored the first points and they
represented to only time in the game they held the lead. Our CCS
Varsity Boys' team dominated the court all evening long opening up
as much as a 21 point lead. They won in convincing fashion 52-38 to
finish the job they started last year. The Civic Center seemed like
it was about half full of CCS faithful and they were, by far the
most vocal. But I know what you all really want...pictures.
I just saw a good wrap up on News 10 NOW and they said it was the
first time a Section X Boys' basketball team won the state title.
Cool!
It
turned out to be a thrilling game in the final minute. The Bulldogs
held an 8-10 point lead for most of the game until the final few
minutes. The opposition managed to tie the game but in the end it
was a 3 point win and another trip back to the Finals for the
bulldogs. I took a few pictures with my normal camera and the new
one...I like the old one better. I am headed back tomorrow and will
have some more shot for you sometime Sunday. Congrats to the
boys...keep it going.

Most
of the school gathered in the hallways and by the roadside this
morning for a great send off for the Boys' Varsity Basketball team
and the Cheerleaders. They will play their game tomorrow morning at
11:45 in Glens Falls. The game will be broadcast on the internet
HERE. I also saw on TV that the Class D final game will be
broadcast. I think it is channel 26 on Time Warner Cable's sports
channel. But first they have to get there. Good luck to the team,
safe driving to all who are going to the game and I will have
pictures for you tomorrow night when I get back to town.

I received a CD full of great shots from a recent Biddy Basketball tournament from the Gilbride family. The team came in second place at the recent N.A.C. Tournament on March 1. Congratulations to the team and the coaches. We are very proud of of your future Bulldog players. Pictures
Like last year the game Friday morning will be broadcast on North Country Sports Net. Check out their site for more information. Also, I will be at the games this weekend so you can expect a few hundred pictures. It's getting exciting around here.
Mr. Breault ran across this video clip. I think you will like it. If anyone else has anything to share, send it to me.
Once
again the Chateaugay Bulldogs are headed to the Class D Final Four
tournament in Glens Falls. The team disposed of Northville 62-41 and
will face Greenport this Friday at 11:45 in Glens Falls. I will try
to get you as much information as I can about the coming weekend,
including links to news stories broadcasts and more. If anyone has
some information to share let me know and I will link it here. For
now here are some pictures from Mr. Breault who was on hand for the
game. Thanks. Mr. B -

It
was the final regular season home game for the Lady Bulldogs and the
net came down strand by strand. The Varsity and JV teams both won
their games. Congratulations to the teams and the coaches on the
great season and best of luck in the playoffs.

Last
night the senior boys' basketball players and the senior
cheerleaders were recognized. This is one of the largest groups of
players and cheerleaders to ever graduate at one time in many years.
Emily Jackson turned in over 200 photos from the game and the moment
of recognition. Thanks to all the seniors for years of service to
the school and the community. Good luck in the playoffs.

It
is always hard to say goodbye and last night was no exception as
three seniors were honored...Lauren LaBare, Kristy Harrigan and
Elizabeth Trombly. They were recognized during the day with a
corsage and their parents were honored before tip off at Monday
night's game. Congratulations to the ladies and thanks for the
memories. Good luck throughout the playoffs.

I think this is the greatest number of pictures we have ever been able to add for basketball photos. Emily has been on an a tear with basketball photos for you. There are over 200 pictures from some recent games. There are so many that I did not edit anything and am posting them all. When you see her tell her thanks. You know you love them. Batch 1 - Batch 2
Emily
had a chance to use the new camera at the recent boys' game and she
came away with some great photos. I think you will enjoy them. I
will also be sending them to the Shutterfly soon. Thanks to all who
have purchased pictures so far. We appreciate your support.
Pictures.
Emily took another batch of photos at last night's game. She's getting really good. Pictures
Thanks
to Emily Jackson we have a few basketball photos to post. We
are (hopefully) getting a new camera soon and will have more
pictures to post as well. These are from the recent game where Coach
Boyea was recognized for his 250th win. Congrats to him and the
whole team on the season so far. As I mention every year, I will not
be ay many (if any) games due to hockey season. Feel free to take
some pictures on your own and send them in.

I
know this is a bit late but I have been away. I also know
everyone knows that the Volleyball team finished 3rd place in New
York State. What you may not know is that Mr. Breault took a
camera with him to the tournament and snapped away. There are
some incredible action shots as well as a photo of the team with
their award. Congratulations to the whole team for a great
season.

My
ears are still ringing. The gym at Franklin Academy was rocking as
the Bulldogs faced off against the Huskies in a match Michael Vick
would enjoy. (Get it? The whole dog fighting reference? I
crack me up.) Our girls fought hard but ultimately they fell short
losing 3-2. Four of the five games were tight and the Bulldogs mad
light work of the Huskies once but the ball did not bounce their
way. Not to fear...the real battle begins Saturday at 1:00 at the
F.A. gym where the Bulldogs will begin their march toward a state
title. Good luck.

Looking for any CCS Bulldog Basketball Alumni that thinks they still have "what it takes! Create your "dream team " to compete in the first annual Christmas Tournament.
Ok...see
there are 6 soccer teams and only 2 volleyball teams, of course I
will have more soccer pictures. Besides, soccer teams have the
decency to play before dark. Actually, if you have not yet witnessed
the volleyball teams in action you are missing some of the most
dominant players in the area. Our volleyball teams have been
systematically destroying all competition once again this year. The
soccer teams are also doing extremely well. The season is nearly
over which means playoffs begin. Don't forget, you can always help
with coverage by submitting your own pictures.

There were some who wondered how CCS would make out when JV
soccer teams were added. Would the modified teams still be as
strong? The answer is a resounding "YES". The Boys' and Girls' teams
are doing very well this year. The youth soccer teams are doing a
great job preparing our student athletes. Here are some pictures
from a recent match-up against Madrid-Waddington.

VERY late)
By now you may know, but I want to make sure. The newly formed A/V Club is now offering pictures for sale to help us raise money so we can cover more events and offer even more content on the website. You can click HERE to be taken to our web gallery where you can purchase high quality pictures of your favorite athletes. Please be patient as we add more and more pictures. For now, here are some more soccer games (I will be there soon girls..or someone could borrow a camera!) Pictures
Amanda Wilcox borrowed a camera recently to grab a few shots at a home game. See how easy it is to get on the site? Stop by for a quick lesson and you too can make sure everyone gets their moment to shine. Pictures
I know...I know...more boys' soccer games. I will try to make some other games this week but I could always use help. If you take some of your own pictures, send them in. If you would like to borrow a camera, stop by and see me. For now, here are a few from last week's games. Pictures
It was an epic battle between rival schools this week as FA came to CCS and tried to steal one from the Varsity Volleyball team. Our girls pulled it off after a long battle that tested both teams. Coach Reynolds was proud of the effort put forth by the whole team. There was no quit in any of them. But you don't want to read the story...you want the Pictures.
Sept. 10, 2007 - Three soccer teams were home this afternoon. The JV Boys had a nice win over Colton-Pierrepont, the Varsity Girls' team had a dominating win over St. Regis Falls, and the Varsity Boys used every second of their match to play for a 1-1 tie against F.A. I did see a few people with cameras. As always, feel free to send in any photos you would like to share. With so many teams playing this year it will be hard to cover everyone alone. For now, here are a few to tide you over. And for someone who may need this information...my favorite cookie is chocolate chip. Pictures
I am adding links here to past sports pages. Enjoy!
Reminder: All students are required to ride the bus both to AND from the destination on extra bus trips. Students may leave a destination with their parent/legal guardian ONLY after his/her parent/legal guardian has signed the CCS release form. The person in charge shall carry a release form. In accordance with New York State law, students shall not be allowed to leave an extra bus trip destination with anyone other than a parent/legal guardian.
Mrs. Reynolds has been working with the Digital Sports website. This site allows coaches and athletic directors to post schedules. Click HERE and type in Chateaugay to select the school. This is a great way to keep on top of all the teams. Thanks Mrs. Reynolds.
